Tacchino Ciclocross takes place November 7 at Rosaryville State Park. Before we get into the course preview, the most important thing you need to do for Sunday is change your clock. That’s right an extra hour of sleep for all you racers out there. But don’t get cocky with it. You still need to give yourself plenty of time to get to the race venue.
Along those same lines, here is a quick note on Rosaryville. If you did not do this race last year, the parking area and the course are not that close to each other. If you set up a trainer near your car, make sure you don’t lose track of time and miss staging for your race. I would suggest contacting the promoter and seeing if any more tent space is available for your team. Or, if you really need that trainer, throw it on your back and set up next to the course.
According to the race promoter, aka his unholiness, there are going to be a couple changes to the course. I try and point out where they will be on the video but the footage is from last year’s race so it’s more of a guesstimation. The preview should give you a pretty good idea of what to expect. One thing I did not mention is that there may be an additional dismount near the beginning of the team tent area. There was some talk about putting in steps at that point, but I’m not sure if that will happen. It will be a surprise for all of us.
Tacchino Ciclocross is a fun course and a great festival atmosphere. Bring the whole family, the tandem, the single speed, the MTB and make a day of it.
Thanks for watching and we will see you on Sunday. If you have a minute, come say hi at the announcer’s table.
