SVENNESS Goes to the Olympics

With cyclocross winding down and the Winter Olympics heating up, we take a bit of a detour to Sochi for the men’s freestyle sprint cross-country skiing final race. The course, which competitors will do one lap of in a little over 3 minutes, has been a challenging one. Many crashes have occurred throughout the day and the final is not immune to its own chaotic excitement. So much going on in this 3 and a half minute race.

  1. Great video.
I’ve been thinking this for years, but never seen any popular movement towards it. Why isn’t cyclocross in the winter olympics?

  2. Currently the event has to take place on snow or ice to be included in the winter Olympics, though I think people are trying to get that changed to events that take place in the winter…

  3. OK, that was awesome. I’ve rarely seen anyone as blown up as an XC ski racer at the end of a race.
