SVENNESS 3.7

For episode 3.7 we head to Asper-Gavere, Belgium, for the fourth round of the Superprestige series. The course is muddy and slick. Not deep mud but the kind of mud that makes every turn and every descent an adventure. It also makes riding up hills difficult. We look at how riders deal with a particularly hairy descent, the ride vs. run decision and another great example of teamwork and tactical riding.

This episode, as always, is presented by Skills Drills and Bellyaches: A Cyclocross Primer available at cyclocrossbook.com. Also check out SVENNESS.com for socks and shirts.

  1. Another great Svenness! maybe I missed this in the video, but did you have any thoughts on what Tom could have done tactically to gain an advantage over the two teammates or is it a lost cause? Thanks again.

  2. Bouncy Castle, Genius, Hah! Concerning Meeusen and MvdP, Bart Wellens said after the race that you have to be patient and meter your effort on a course as heavy is this. Can’t be burning up too many matches early. Youthful exuberance can sometimes do you in. Great video as always!

  3. I look forward to these! Thank you!! Madness in the mud. I’m surprised I didn’t see more problem with clipping in.
