Wietse Bosmans (BKCP-Corendon) and Katrina Jaunslaviete (Latvia) won the first UCI C1 cyclocross race of the 2015/2016 season. The wins, which took place at the Qiansen Trophy Cyclocross race at Yanqing, Beijing, China, were the first elite level C1 win for both riders. Bosmans who suffered through Lyme disease last season, which kept him off the bike for an extended time, led the race from the start and did not look back against two strong challengers. Steve Chainel, who recently announced his return to the sport with Cross Team by G4, came in second, followed by veteran Czech rider Radomir Simunek, jr. (Corendon-KwadrO). Jaunslaviete’s race was much closer as she battled with Kathryn Cumming (Cyclocross Magazine Cycling) who came in second place. Asa Erlandsson, a mountainbike specialist, came in third place.
