Wietse Bosmans and Amanda Miller took the wins at Nittany Cyclocross, Day One. Conditions deteriorated throughout the day and the elite races took place under rainy skies. Miller earned the top step over her Boulder Cycle Sport teammate, Crystal Anthony. Rebecca Fahringer (Amy D. Racing) took third. Bosmans, suffering from jet lag, took a couple laps to get his legs under him while Dan Timmerman (Stans No Tubes Cyclocross) took the early lead. Bosmans (BKCP-Corendon) eventually hitched on to Timmerman’s wheel and the duo separated themselves from the rest of the field. Bosmans took the win with Timmerman second. Cam Dodge (Cam Dodge Racing) came in third.
