Cyclocross season is over and everyone here at In The Crosshairs has gone underground. Literally.
Last night was the kickoff race for the second annual Wednesday Night Spins sponsored by Crystal City, Vornado and Crosshairs Cycling. Four levels below ground, in a parking garage, we hold three races every Wednesday in March. The course serpentines through the garage level, which has been cleared of cars. Cyclocross tape marks the course and riders of all abilities race for 35 minutes.

This year we included a women’s race that had a spectacular turn out for week one. Overall, close to 100 racers participated. Along with racing, a happy hour was taking place at the same time, with the Washington Wine Academy serving beer and wine, Acme Pie doling out the dessert and JavaCruiser Jeff serving slinging the best grilled cheese sandwiches around.
