It may be the cyclocross offseason but that doesn’t mean there isn’t good racing going on, and we don’t mean road racing. The UCI pro XC or XCO season will get started soon and if you love cyclocross, you really need to check out the cross-country mountainbike scene.
In episode 71, Taylor (@jtaylorjones), Kevin (@cxshark) and Bill (@cxhairs) give you a bit of a primer on cross country racing. We talk about the U.S. scene, Europe and then devolve into the rebirth of XCE or eliminator.

This is such a great idea. I’ve been watching all the MTB World Cups the last 3-4 years and it’ll be so nice to have this podcast to listen to in between the races and CX off-season.
Love your shows. I also enjoy the ribbing you give folk like me who ride Enduro and Cross. And when I do Sea Otter, I get to do both at one Event! So on that theme, when you smirk at shuttling , I got to point something out from a race training point of view. The reason I like cross is because it rewards fitness, bike handling, and race savvy in a great mix. With Enduro, on the other hand, I love how it rewards the rider who can ride a bike better. If you can clear that gap and I have to take the go around, then you Deserve to beat me. So I need to practice those gaps, those turns, those rock gardens. And as a working man I only have so much time in the day. If it takes me an hour to ride up for a 15 minute descent where ALL the training is taking place, it really makes it hard to train. Those times we shuttle, it’s often to get as much Training in the amount of time we have. Keep making me laugh. I can take the joking. I’m loving the mtb coverage, too.
