CrossVegas may have taken place a week ago but it’s still fresh in our memory. The second stop on the ITCH Tour, CrossVegas never disappoints. With a new course and a world class field for the World Cup opener, the racing was intense. ITCH Tour photographer, Bruce Buckley, captured all of the action in this edition of The Big Picture.
In episode 37, we welcome CrossVegas head honcho, Brook Watts, to Crosshairs Radio for a lively discussion about the history of the event and what we have to look forward to for the tenth year celebration. In its second year as a World Cup event, CrossVegas has revamped the entire course and brought a fresh look to this American cyclocross institution. Brook gives us a peek inside the race and gets us ready for September. Continue reading “Crosshairs Radio Episode 37: Brook Watts (CrossVegas)”
CrossVegas announced, today, changes to the track at the decade old event. No longer will the race venture off into the no-man’s land of the front-side soccer fields but will instead be confined to the “bowl.” The changes look like they will make for a more dynamic race and one that is even more spectator friendly. Here ‘s the official press release from Cross Vegas along with the new map: Continue reading “Clif Bar CrossVegas Course Changes Announced”
We have a couple more cards up our sleeves as far as CrossVegas-related content is concerned, but as far as the video interviews go, we are pretty much tapped out. Although the talking is all out there, the race footage and b-roll remains and there’s some fun stuff in there. So that it doesn’t go to waste, we have put together another scrapbook, similar to what was published for Nittany CX a couple weeks ago. Continue reading “2015 CrossVegas Scrapbook”

Jeremy Powers (Rapha-Focus/Aspire Racing) entered the first World Cup race held in North America with the realistic goal of a top five finish. If all went right and the stars aligned, his team thought a CrossVegas podium spot was possible, but top 5? That was something well within his reach. [EDITOR’S NOTE: The sound quality on the video at the bottom of the page suffers from a bit of wind noise. If you watched the race, or saw highlights, especially of the sand, you witnessed how bad the wind was at the race. Unfortunately, this wind picked up again as soon as we started our interview. It’s still worth watching, and you can hear everything fine, there’s just some unavoidable background noise that gets in the way here and there.]
Katerina Nash has won CrossVegas more than anybody, male or female. Her fourth victory at the Desert Breeze Soccer Complex in Las Vegas, Nevada, also gave her the lead in the UCI World Cup standings.
